Spontaneity is a core difficulty for the majority of autistic people, regardless of their cognitive or linguistic abilities, and developing communicative skills is crucial if they want to gain greater control over their environment, increased independence, and access to a higher quality of life. This book examines the impact the interactive style of neurotypical individuals may have on the spontaneous communication of children with autism.
