Yearbook of Islamic and Middle Eastern Law 2013-2015

This year's volume contains tributes to the principal founder of the Yearbook, Eugene Cotran, who passed away in June 2014. Other articles cover Arab Spring, ancient regimes, and the social contract; Islamic law reform: between reinterpretation and democracy; the matrimonial home under Islamic and Iranian law; and an international law analysis of who has the right to become a Palestinian citizen. Country surveys look at Lebanon, Yemen, and Iran. Texts of recent legal documents include an Egyptian Administrative Court judgement of 21 June 2016 in respect of the maritime border agreement for the legal transfer of the Red Sea islands of Tiran and Sanafir from Egypt to Saudi Arabia. Martin Lau is the Dean and Professor of Law at the Shaikh Ahmad Hassan School of Law of LUMS in Lahore, Pakistan, on leave from the Law School of the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) until 2018. He qualified as a Solicitor in England & Wales (2012), having obtained an LLB from SOAS (2007) and a Masters in Law from the University of Cambridge (2008).
