This year's volume presents bibliographic data on the most relevant linguistic publications from the year 2016, as well as earlier publications that have not been indexed until now. Because the volume of linguistic publications has increased substantially, and the Bibliography's editors have widened their scope to include more material, especially from Asia, this yearly report contains details for most, but by no means all the material indexed for the Bibliography. The remainder of the records for 2016 as well as the complete edition of over 400,000 bibliographic descriptions are accessible on the web site, which is updated on a monthly basis. After general linguistic concerns, the first order of arrangement, is by language family or by region. English translation follows foreign-language titles.
