John H. Tidyman is a writer, author, lecturer, publisher, and on-air host for "When Johnny Comes Marching Home Again," the award-winning radio show for military veterans. The middle child of seven children, he followed his father's path in Cleveland journalism. Tidyman began at The Cleveland Press, and later served as Associate Editor at Pittsburgher magazine. His free lance writing has been repeatedly honored by Sigma Delta Chi, the journalism fraternity, the Press clubs of Akron and Cleveland, and Northern Ohio Live's Awards of Achievement.An eclectic writer with wide ranging interests, the subjects of his books have been journalists, dogs, police, golf, media criticism, and firefighters. As a ghostwriter, his subjects have included U.S. missle defense, and corporate restructuring. Two of his books have been cited as excellent oral histories. He is a graduate of Lakewood (O.) High School. He was drafted in 1967 and fought with the 198th Light Infantry Brigade, in Viet Nam. He was promoted four times and was mustered out as a sergeant. Tidyman and his wife, the former Annabelle Lee Dowd, live in Lakewood.
