作者簡介
Carl A. Maida is a professor at the UCLA Institute of the Environment and Sustainability in the College of Letters and Science, where he teaches courses on action research methods and conducts community-based research on urban sustainability. His research studies on how community-scale crises impact urban populations are presented in Pathways through Crisis: Urban Risk and Public Culture. He is also Director of the UCLA Pre-College Science Education Program, and conducts studies of project-based and inquiry-based learning in schools and action research in community-based organizations funded by the National Science Foundation, National Institute of Mental Health, US Environmental Protection Agency, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Ford Foundation, Howard Hughes Medical Institute, and The California Endowment.He is a member of the UCLA Campus Sustainability Committee, and chairs its Academic Committee. He is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Anthropological Association, and the Society for Applied Anthropology.
