This book offers an empirically-based view on the numerous interconnections and cross-border practices that have come to define everyday life in contemporary Europe. It looks at the ways that EU residents have crossed borders to grow closer than ever: not only in their experiences of work and travel in foreign countries but also in their knowledge and consumption of foreign products, as well as in their general attitudes towards foreign cultures. Everyday Europe considers how people reconcile their cross-border interconnections with the turmoil and political separations that have roiled the EU in recent years.
作者簡介
Ettore Recchi is professor of sociology at Sciences Po, Paris, and professor at the Migration Policy Centre of the EUI, Florence. Adrian Favell is chair in sociology and social theory at the University of Leeds. Fulya Apaydin is assistant professor at Institut Barcelona d'Estudis Internacionals. Roxana Barbulescu is academic fellow in new migrations in the School of Sociology and Social Policy at the University of Leeds. Michael Braun is project consultant at the Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences and adjunct professor at the University of Mannheim. Irina Ciornei is assistant professor in the Institute of Sociology at the University of Bern.
