Ars Electronica 2004: Timeshift - Die Welt in 25 Jahren. 25 Jahre Festival für Kunst, Technologie und Gesellschaft

The title theme of this year's festival is Timeshift - The World in 25 Years. It will focus on issues such as times of change, radical political transformation, and possible future development. The broad spectrum of approaches to this theme will be reflected in symposiums, interviews with artists, panel discussions and workshops, exhibitions, installations, works in public space, performances, and concerts as well as numerous special events and guest appearances in honor of the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Festival. Featuring articles devoted to the theoretical reflections of participating artists and scholars as well as descriptions of the various art projects, the 2004 Festival catalogue offers an survey of current developments in art, technology, and society.
