Why me?: A self-help guide to overcoming human suffering

This book is a true account of my own struggle with heartbreak and how I coped with it. By learning a rigorous form of meditation - Vipāssana meditation - and then practicing it daily, my life has changed for the better. I am now in a position to deal with whatever life throws at me with great calm and equanimity. My life has changed fundamentally - and for the better. Humanity is suffering on multiple counts; the haves' are suffering as are the have-nots'. It is now clear to me that the reason for this suffering is the ignorance of the way out of suffering: Vipāssana meditation, and the Teachings of the Buddha.The Buddha dedicated His entire life to finding out about the cause of suffering and the way out of it. Upon discovering the technique to remove this universal suffering, he selflessly shared it with humanity for the rest of his life. The technique is present to us even today in a form known as Vipāssana meditation.This book details one young man's struggle with heartbreak, his enrolling in a course on Vipāssana meditation, and his gradual transformation from a state of bafflement, self-misery and self-pity to one of discernment and self-mastery. Every day of a real Vipāssana course is discussed in this book in the context of this individual's transformation. If this book succeeds in causing even one person to enroll in a Vipāssana course, this effort will have been well worth it.
