When an ancient but collapsing organization becomes so desperate to retain, and even broaden, its sphere of influence, there are no lies too great, nothing too devious for them to do in order to regain their former wealth and control. Even when that organization is the Holy Vatican.A regular suburban morning around the family breakfast table turns into the first day of hell in the novel The Forgotten Flock. When Alex Martin comes back to his house after walking the dog he finds his entire family has vanished. Some of the neighbors have gone missing as well. The television reports that a test from God, a partial Rapture has happened and that the Vatican has been given control over the US government as they attempt to convert the rest of the population before the next, and final, Rapture occurs in seven years. This begins the downward spiral for atheist Alex Martin, as he tries to cope with the loss of his cherished family as he runs for his life from the militant squads from the newly formed Holy Order of the Reconfirmation Church.
