What hurts the most?
Different persons would respond to the above question based on various schools of thought. Have you ever considered what would propel some human to give up on their goals, just because of an action or inaction of another which to the other may appear light weighted - a frivolity. Have you ever considered how people could react to disappointments from their 'species' - their gender, close associates, people from their race or those with whom they share similar/same vision?
In the world, many preach that there is freedom of choice. Do people actually get to choose? If yes, how come I was born black yet he is white? Why then would the conditions of my birth chose for me among peers, even before they get to hear my story?
Taraji Penda Henson my favorite movie star, in an interview shared by Gold cast once remarked; "If you allow people to project their fears unto you, you won't live" A word that has remained one of my life's principle. But storytellers, writers and animation technicians have been imposing their feelings on us, which sometimes may be that of fear but we are still living. Well, some of them may not be overly intimidating. There is propaganda that the Blacks hate the Whites, probably due to marginalization. Some try to impose these feelings on others. If they were for real, Is the resultant prejudice due to the difference in skin colour or attitude towards the other? Is there a possibility of certain Blacks preferring the Whites to people of their race? How do rape victims behave and why?
These and more issues about the Blacks with Nigerians as a reference is poetically addressed in the short story 'BLACK APOCALYPSE'. This interesting story will allay your fears and open your mind to the possibilities around you. You'd learn about lifestyles and some cultural practices in Nigeria. Enjoy
