This book is for all new moms and those who are just expecting their beloved child! Did you know that back in the 19th century, children were treated like little adults and that no special importance was attached to how they are raised, fed, or often what happens to them after birth? It was fashionable to leave children to be brought up by mothers - poor rural women, who, apart from a small group of their own children, looked after other people's offspring. Parents picked up their children only when they could go to school (preferably boarding, so that they would still not disturb the adults). A lot has changed since then.
