This manuscript is a categorical refutation of Theosophy and of spiritism from a decidedly Christian and religious backdrop. Some of the arguments here are outdated- such as claiming Theosophy is the system of the antichrist, or that the order promotes the de facto worship of demonic forces. Other criticisms are more valid- such as the inherent socialism which may result from some Theosophical teachings, at least as taught by certain figures at the time. Allusions to Biblical passages are profuse here. The text may also be seen as an interesting historical piece from a time in which Christianity in the traditional sense sparred with new age and new thought movements, secular rationalism, and liberal Christendom.
