Larry Howdyshell holds an undergraduate Degree in Chemistry from the University of Tennessee and a Master's and Doctorate in Education from the University of Virginia. He is a retired public school math teacher and administrator. As a representative of ministry, he taught Sunday school, participated in church productions, served on the church security team, and is a deacon. He is also a member of the Gideons, a Christian organization which distributes Bibles worldwide. He considers speaking about how Jesus Christ has helped him cope with clinical depression as one of the most significant aspects of his ministry. He is an avid sports fan and participant. Above all, he is devoted to his wife, two children, and their families.
