Brockman (U. of Notre Dame) presents an introductory textbook on engineering for beginning students in their first course. It is built on the suggestions from Educating the Engineer of 2020: Adapting Engineering Education to a New Century (a panel commissioned by the National Academy of Engineering) to teach about the process of design, predicting performance, building, and testing and introduce interdisciplinary learning in the first year.
