I've become an expert at blending in, observing but never participating, trying to be invisible. I don't even mind it at this point, I'm different from these kids, and that suits me just fine. If you knew them like I do, you wouldn't want to be like them either. I walk into my senior year as excited as all the years before, which is not at all. I have to focus on boosting my college applications and unfortunately, that means stepping out of the shadows for the first time in my life. All of a sudden, I have a whole group of friends, new experiences, and the confidence to get what I want.
Just when I think life has taken a turn for the better, the broody boy I never thought would ever see me seems to be everywhere.
