商品簡介
An approach to patient care known as evidence-based medicine or evidence-based health care is one in which a clinician uses personal experience and expertise in addition to the most up-to-date scientific information to make decisions about a patient's diagnosis and treatment.
In the 1990s, the need to evaluate the validity of a growing body of current research data and implement novel procedures and products was the primary driving force behind the development of evidence-based medicine. Despite the fact that academic medicine was the initial driving force behind the idea, the prospect of developing services that were particularly suitable and cost-effective for the population served made it particularly appealing to funding agencies. As a result, evidence-based medicine received the financial, managerial, and ideological backing it needed to continue growing.
Since its inception, evidence-based medicine has resulted in the development of specific service delivery protocols and detailed guidelines. These developments, in theory, have made it simpler to monitor and direct health professionals' performance than in the past. Patients who rely on commercial or other potentially biased sources of information and advice have made it especially important to provide them with objective information about the effectiveness of interventions.
