王德威：「海峽中線」，就是文學！什麼力量，促成文學渡海之後的臺灣轉向？產生怎樣的轉化與創新？如何超越政治，回歸文學，重新思考、評價跨越海峽中線的「從中國到臺灣」之路？民族國家意識與語文新變、現代大學的學科建制、知識生產與學院人的文化志業、從中國到臺灣的文學創變從「海峽中線」到「文學渡海」，在想像與實存、修辭與政治、拓撲與疆域間海峽中線既劃分又連接兩端，出虛入實──就是一種「文學」一頁頁的中國蛻變為臺灣文學的歷程，正是文學的海峽中線「這一邊」的故事「海峽中線」成為區隔兩岸文學的無形分界。「海峽中線」向來是軍事與政治用語，又名「臺海中線」或「海峽中心線」。它是一條位於臺灣海峽中央、呈東北─西南走向的虛擬界限，雖然設定者與設定時間迄今並無定論，但一般被視為國共內戰的副產品，並在一九四九年國府播遷，兩岸分立之後，發揮了規範雙方活動界閾、避免軍事衝突的作用。中線是一個象徵符號，甚至隱喻，演繹二十世紀中期一段波詭雲譎的政治敘事。中線雖為虛構，但落實其「存在」的軍事角力和外交運作卻無時或已。跨越與否的凶險和結果成為不斷揣測、協商的前提。不能否認的是，「中線」在維護臺海和平的同時，卻也劃分壁壘，形成隔絕的藩籬。它雖因應軍事與政治需要而生，所牽動的層面，所帶來的影響，則是無所不在。無論是國際間的合縱連橫，兩岸間的各行其是，無論是經濟還是社會，是教育還是文化，莫不因為這一無形界限而發生動盪變化。文學想像的因革遷變，更是不在話下。對於臺灣文學而言，從反共懷鄉文學的頻頻回望大陸，到解嚴之後的在地創化，直面臺灣，半個多世紀的歷程，所隱含的，亦是與那想像中的「海峽中線」的不斷對話。《文學的海峽中線：從世變到文變》思考臺灣自戰後以來從「中國化」到「本土化」的過程。所謂海峽中線起自軍事部署，但更可以是關於作為政治的「文學」隱喻。作者梅家玲關心的不只是中線如何分隔敵我的方式，而是中線如何導致──甚至投射──逾越與跨越的威脅，以及種種協商。在這層意義上，文學想像其實是政治判斷，面對危機，賦予無限可能。本書以二十世紀中期以降為背景，探討現代中國文學在臺灣靈根自植的一頁。作者不僅視海峽中線為軍事座標，標明世紀中期兩岸分立的事實，也視其為一種感覺結構，投射國家危機或轉機的臨界點。本書也點出「文學的海峽中線」其實變動不拘。因應時代政治氛圍，它可以是反共的，也可以是反中的；可以是延續古典、一以貫之的，也可以是落
