Originally published in 1927, as the fourth edition of a title first published in two volumes in 1892 and 1893, this is Love's classic account of the mathematical theory of elasticity. The text provides a detailed explanation of the topic in its various aspects, revealing important relationships with general physics and applications to engineering. Also included are a historical introduction to the theory, notes section, index of authors cited and index of matters treated. This book will be of value to anyone with an interest in elasticity, physics and mathematics.

Now in paperback, a heartfelt YA rom-com about smart girls, love-struck boys, and quantum theorySeventeen-year-old Evie Beckham has never been interested in dating. She’s fully occupied by her love of math and her frequent battles with anxiety. Besides, she’s always found the idea of kissing to be kind of weird and pretty unsanitary, when you think about it. But with the help of her therapist and her support system, she’s feeling braver. Maybe even brave enough to enter a prestigious physics competition or to say yes to the new boy who’s been flirting with her. Evie’s best friend, Caleb, has always been a little in love with Evie, and though he knows she isn’t ready for romance, he hopes that when she is, she’ll choose him. So Caleb is horrified when he is forced to witness Evie’s meet-cute with a floppy-haired, mathematically gifted transfer student. In desperation, Caleb decides to use an online forum to capture Evie’s interest. When it goes better than he could’ve wished for, he won

The mathematician and physicist William Thomson, 1st Baron Kelvin, (1824–1907) was one of Britain's most influential scientists, famous for his work on the first and second laws of thermodynamics and for devising the Kelvin scale of absolute temperature. Silvanus P. Thompson (1851–1916) began this biography with the co-operation of Kelvin in 1906, but the project was interrupted by Kelvin's death the following year. Thompson, himself a respected physics lecturer and scientific writer, decided that a more comprehensive biography would be needed and spent several years reading through Kelvin's papers in order to complete these two volumes, published in 1910. Volume 2, beginning in 1871, covers not only Kelvin's mature research, but also more personal aspects of his life, including his love of music and sailing, his experiments with compasses and navigation, and the relationship between his scientific discoveries and his religious beliefs.
