Robbie is a 9-year old boy with Asperger's-like traits, a precocious intelligence, a prodigious memory and exquisitely tuned to loss. A gifted young artist, he aims to draw all of the animals in danger of extinction. His father, Theo, is an astrobiologist, consumed with finding signs of life in the cosmos and raising Robbie alone after the tragic death of his wife, Aly. As Robbie's behaviour grows more unmanageable, Theo seeks out an experimental treatment conducted by Dr Martin Currier involving neurofeedback that enables Robbie to pattern his emotional responses on the recorded brainwave activity of his late mother. But as government funding is pulled from the study, Robbie suffers a precipitous decline with heart-breaking consequences. A LATER CLASSIC FROM AMERICA'S PREMIER FICTION WRITER First published in 1970, nine years after Hemingway's death, this is the story of an artist and adventurer -- a man much like Hemingway himself.
Albert Dürer was born in Nuremberg on 21 May 1471. He began his career under the tutelage of Michael Wolgemut, the eminent German painter and printmaker, before travelling through Germany and to parts of Italy. In 1494 he returned to Nuremberg, where he remained until his death on 6 April 1528. Although an artist and a fluent and engaging writer, it is Dürer's woodcuts and engravings that most demonstrate his enviable creative skills. Indeed, the editor of this volume, T. D. Barlow, argues that Dürer can indeed be reckoned one of the all-time masters of his craft. Within this 1926 volume, Barlow has chronologically catalogued almost 300 of Dürer's engravings; it is the result of many years' work. The finished product will be of great interest as a reference work for scholars engaged in the study of Dürer's work and in the distribution of his impressions and their reproductions.

Following the tragic death of his fifteen-year-old son five years ago, he stopped doing longer interviews, retreating into the persona he’d spent a lifetime crafting. But in March 2020, when his international tour was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, he made an exception―agreeing to speak on the record to his longtime friend the Observer journalist Sean O’Hagan.Faith, Hope, and Carnage is the outcome of these conversations. Intimate, profound, and ruthlessly honest, it takes a long look at the subjects that haunt Cave, and so many of us: love, violence, art, aging, terrible loss, and the divine. It is more than an interview―it is a philosophical reckoning, a revelatory p
