商品簡介
Drawing from court transcripts, newspaper accounts, diaries, and memoirs, this book chronicles the gunfights of Wyatt Earp and his brothers, Doc Holliday, as well as others such as Billy the Kid, Bat Masterson, and Jerry Barton. They came to Arizona as adventurers and sought wealth through cattle, mining, gambling, ranching, and other endeavors. The work details the struggle for law and order in Arizona from its earliest settlement until 1912 and follows the westward migration of gunfighters from Oklahoma, Texas, and elsewhere in the Southwest after the Civil War, with a focus on the development of southeastern Arizona, especially Tombstone; the Pleasant Valley War; the rise and fall of train robbers; the gunfight at the OK Corral; and the role of the Arizona Rangers in ending large-scale cattle rustling. Yadon, an attorney, and Dalton, a former journalist for Pryor, Oklahoma's Daily Times, co-authored two books on Texas outlaws and lawmen. Annotation c2010 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
