商品簡介
Breault (curriculum studies, West Virginia U.) and Perez (education, Saginaw Valley State U.) offer a critical examination of entrepreneurial models of education, arguing that much of it is driven by illusory prestige benchmarking and that this has had damaging effects on faculty, programs, students, and research. After laying out their theoretical argument, they offer case studies showing how universities are driven by prestige indicators. Finally, they conclude with a challenge to university stakeholders to seek out democratic spaces in their institutions in order to create an image of purpose to balance against the potentially destructive image of prestige.
