華茲華斯抒情詩選

本書榮獲一九九八年首屆魯迅文學獎──「全國優秀文學翻譯彩虹獎」榜首

《華茲華斯抒情詩選》，共六十八首，約二千五百行。其中包括華茲華斯的主要代表作〈廷騰寺〉和〈永生的信息〉，重要作品〈邁克爾〉、〈露西組詩〉、〈我們是七個〉、〈鹿跳泉〉、〈孤獨割麥女〉、〈轉折〉、〈哀歌〉以及從《獻給民族獨立和自由的詩》中選譯的若干篇什。譯者堅持「以格律詩譯格律詩」，除少數幾首外，絕大多數譯詩每行的頓數都與原詩的音步數相等，韻式（包括行內韻）也一一仿照原詩。

威廉‧華茲華斯（William Wordsworth, 1770-1850）

是英國浪漫主義詩歌的主要奠基人和魁首，也是莎士比亞和彌爾頓以後英國最重要的詩人。他以飽蘸感情的詩筆詠讚大自然，在自然與人生的關係上，表達了一整套新穎獨特的哲理。他的〈序曲〉等主要作品以發掘人的內心世界為主旨，開啟二十世紀現代詩風的先河，因此獲得「第一位現代詩人」的稱號。他首創了一種洗盡鉛華的新型詩歌用語，體現了深刻思想、真摯感情與樸素語言的完美結合，影響了一代又一代直至今日的詩人。

譯者簡介
楊德豫

為國學大師楊樹達之子，一九二八年十二月生於北平。曾在中央大學、清華大學外國語言文學系肄業。先後在七家報社、出版社任編輯。致力於英美詩歌翻譯，探索把英語格律詩譯成現代漢語（白話）格律詩的方法和形式。譯有莎士比亞長詩《貞女劫》和華茲華斯、柯立芝、拜倫、朗費羅等人的詩選。主編《詩苑譯林》叢書，已出書五十餘種。

The Sparrow's Nest
BEHOLD, within the leafy shade,
Those bright blue eggs together laid!
On me the chance-discovered sight
Gleamed like a vision of delight.
I started─seeming to espy
The home and sheltered bed,
The Sparrow's dwelling, which, hard by
My Father's house, in wet or dry
My sister Emmeline and I
 Together visited.
　
She looked at it and seemed to fear it;
Dreading, tho' wishing, to be near it:
Such heart was in her, being then
A little Prattler among men.

麻雀窩

快瞧，這綠葉濃蔭裡面，
藏著一窩青青的鳥蛋！
這偶然瞥見的景象，看起來
像迷人幻境，閃爍光彩。
我驚恐不安──彷彿在窺視
別人隱祕的眠床；
這個窩靠近我們住室，
不分晴雨，也不問乾濕，
我和艾米蘭妹妹總是

她望著鳥窩，好像有點怕：
又想挨近它，又怕驚動它；
她還是口齒不清的小姑娘，
便有了這樣一副好心腸！
我後來的福分，早在童年

原詩抑揚格為主，每節10行，除第6行、第10行為3音步外，其他8行均為4音步；
譯詩各行頓數與原詩音步數相同。原詩每節韻式為aabbcdcccd，譯詩依原詩。

She gave me eyes, she gave me ears;
And humble cares, and delicate fears;
A heart, the fountain of sweet tears;
And love, and thought, and joy.

她給我一雙耳朵，一雙眼，
銳敏的憂懼，瑣細的掛牽，
一顆心──甜蜜淚水的泉源，
思想，歡樂，還有愛。

這首詩中的「艾米蘭」是指詩人的妹妹多蘿西。為詩人兄妹作傳的人們曾指出：
多蘿西對自然景物和人事的感受比詩人更敏銳，觀察更細緻，體會也更精微；
有時是在她的啟發和引導下，詩人才加深了對事物的理解和領悟；一些優秀詩篇
的寫成，也是首先由她觸發了詩人的靈感。在這首詩中，詩人說他妹妹給他以眼、
耳、心等等，就是指多蘿西使他目明耳聰，心靈開竅。

Foresight
THAT is work of waste and ruin─
Do as Charles and I are doing!
Strawberry-blossoms, one and all,
We must spare them─here are many:
Look at it─the flower is small,
Small and low, though fair as any:
Do not touch it! summers two
I am older, Anne, than you.
　
Pull the primrose, sister Anne!
Pull as many as you can.
─Here are daisies, take your fill;
Pansies, and the cuckoo-flower:
Of the lofty daffodil
Make your bed, or make your bower;
Fill your lap and fill your bosom;
Only spare the strawberry-blossom!

遠見

那樣做簡直是破壞，是糟蹋──
來學學我和查理的做法！
瞧這兒開了這麼多草莓花，
可是這種花我們不能採；
它們挺美的，比誰也不差，
可是你瞧──花兒小，枝子矮；
別動手，別碰它，安妮妹妹！

原詩揚抑格為主，每行4音步；譯詩每行4頓。原詩每節韻式為aabcbcdd，

Primroses, the Spring may love them─
Summer knows but little of them:
Violets, a barren kind,
Withered on the ground must lie;
Daisies leave no fruit behind
When the pretty flowerets die;
Pluck them, and another year
As many will be blowing here.
　
God has given a kindlier power
To the favoured strawberry-flower.
Hither soon as spring is fled
You and Charles and I will walk;
Lurking berries, ripe and red,
Then will hang on every stalk,
Each within its leafy bower;
And for that promise spare the flower!

櫻草的好日子是在春天，

OFT I had heard of Lucy Gray:
And, when I crossed the wild,
I chanced to see at break of day

You yet may spy the fawn at play,
The hare upon the green;
But the sweet face of Lucy Gray
