譚建光(TAN Jianguang,1960-),is an expert at Chinese volunteer service research and professor at Guangdong Youth Vocational College.Meanwhile,he serves as United Nations volunteers research project expert,Executive Director of Chinese Volunteers Society,Vice-President of Guangdong Volunteers Association and a member of Guangdong Social Innovation Advisory Committee.He has won many social honors including "China Volunteer Service Development Contribution Award","Chinese Community Volunteer Service Contribution Award" and "Outstanding Contribution to Guangzhou Asian Games Volunteer Service Award".He has published more than 10 books on volunteer service,such as Volunteerism in China:Experience and Retrospection,Research on China Volunteer Service and Report on the Development of Volunteer Service in China Rural Areas.He has been invited by NUDP,UNV,Civilization Office,Ministry of Civil Affairs,Ministry of Education,Central Communist Youth League and ACWF to give keynote speeches at various international and domestic summit forums.He has lectured at the state,provincial and municipal volunteer institutions,provided advisory guidance for special volunteer groups,communities and rural volunteer service stations,and is influential in China's volunteerism and education.
楊旭(YANG Xu,1966-),is associate professor and Director of Foreign Languages Faculty at Guangdong Youth Vocational College.She graduated from the Foreign Languages Department of Yunnan University in 1986.Her research interest is in second language acquisition.

2.Large in Scale and Fitting into Society
In recent years,thanks to the gradual accumulation of volunteer service experience,and the deepening of theoretical research on volunteer service,the development of young volunteer service features routinization,standardization and specialization.In other words,volunteer service activities tend to be routinized;the recruitment,organization and management system of volunteers tend to be standardized,and the knowledge and skills required for volunteer service tend to be specialized.As one can see,with the development of young volunteer service,it not only attaches importance on the expansion of the number of participants and the scale of its activities,but also lays stress on the perfection of its operation mechanism and management system.Up to now,China has established a mechanism to recruit,train,manage,incentivize and appraise volunteers.With the expansion of the social influences of volunteer service,young volunteer service is fitting into society in an increasing and obvious way.
Firstly,the development of young volunteer organizations becomes increasingly socialized.For greater development,it is inevitable that young volunteer has to be associated with the process of social development.This objectively requests young volunteer service organizations to base themselves on the specific social environment and take the real needs of the reality as the driving force for their own development.Considering the current development trend of young volunteer organizations,special importance should be attached to the development of non-governmental young volunteer organizations.They should also be given encouragement to develop so that they can play an important role,while at the same time,remain as a unique force in the development of young volunteer service and volunteer service at large.
