Survival Time ― A Handbook for Surviving a Violent Incident

Violent incidents are steadily on the increase in this country, and we, the authors of this survival manual, have determined that most people are unaccustomed and ill- prepared to deal with violent situations. Hence, this manual will assist readers to better understand the actions of violent people (perpetrators), but most importantly the chief focus will be on the readers’ actions to help themselves survive a violent incident. Our goal is to have readers understand the strategies for protecting themselves until emergency services personnel, i.e. police, fire, and medical, arrive and gain control of the event. Our primary message is that you, the reader, are the first line of defense as a crisis intervention specialist.
