Matt S. Meier was professor emeritus of history at the University of Santa Clara. His published work includesA Bibliography for Chicano History as well as the Greenwood titles Dictionary of Mexican American History;Bibliography of Mexican American History; and Notable Latino Americans.
Alma M. Garcia, PhD, is professor of sociology and director of the Latin American Studies program at Santa Clara University, Santa Clara, CA. She is the author ofNarratives of Second Generation Mexican American Women: Emergent Identities of the Second Generation.
