Sweden has a long history of ambitious environmental, energy and climate policy. This history provides a large amount of data which offers a unique opportunity to consider key policy issues such as the impact of the CO2 tax on CO2 emission intensity, the effect of the CO2 tax on the profitability of firms, whether including air emissions in the productivity measurement of firms matters and whether the introduction of the EU ETS spurred technological development among Swedish firms. This book examines the answers to these questions and many more and argues that there are many issues and conclusions which are very relevant for countries that are in the process of shaping their climate policy.
作者簡介
Rolf Fare is a Professor of Economics and Applied Economics at Oregon State Universit. As a former student of Ronald W. Shephard, his main research interest is in production theory, especially in an activity analysis or DEA framework, and applications in numerous ?elds, including environmental economics, energy e?ciency, and health.
Shawna Grosskopf is Professor Emerita and currently an adjunct professor at Centre for Environmental and Resource Economics, Umea, Sweden. Recent research has included work on using directional distance functions to model productivity in the presence of environmental byproducts, and assessing performance in the health sector.
Tommy Lundgren is a Professor of Economics and at Centre for Environmental and Resource Economics, Umea, Sweden. His research is mainly focused on applied policy analysis related to the environment. Currently he is running a project assessing industrial energy demand and energy efficiency in Sweden.
Per-Olov Marklund is a researcher at the National Institute of Economic Research (NIER), Stockholm, Sweden. His research focuses on applied policy analysis that relates to the environment. He is currently involved in research on green public procurement as an environmental policy instrument.
Wenchao Zhou is a Senior Researcher at Centre for Regional Sciences at Umea University, Sweden.
