A Taste of Cuba ― Exploring the Island's Unique Places, People, and Cuisine

A Taste of Cuba celebrates the incredible taste of Cuban cuisine and the sites, color, and energy of Cuban culture. To make this incredible volume, Cynthia Carris Alonso, an acclaimed photographer and the author ofPassage to Cuba, her Cuban husband, Jose Luis Alonso, and veteran food photographer Liza Gershman took to the streets of Cuba, photographing the country and stopping in its best paladars along the way.

This visually stunning volume features seventy-five authentic Cuban recipes provided by chefs the authors met during their travels through Cuba. Cynthia Carris Alonso is an acclaimed photographer and the author of Passage to Cuba. She has been regularly traveling to Cuba and photographing it since the 1990s, and her images have been exhibited throughout the United States. She lives in New York, NY.

Liza Gershman is a veteran food photographer whose photographs have been featured in a range of beautiful cookbooks, included Skyhorse’sThe Good Cooks’ Book series. She splits her time between San Francisco, CA and New York, NY.

Jose Luis Alonso grew up in Cuba and moved to the United States after meeting his future wife, Cynthia Carris Alonso, there. He is an expert on Cuban cooking and lives with Cynthia and their daughter in New York, NY.
