Managing Complex Construction Projects

This book presents a systems-based approach to Construction Project Management that will facilitate a greater understanding of the complexity of large construction projects and how that complexity can be effectively managed with the knowledge gained from this book. The systems approach permits the onsite construction project manager to take a complex construction project, break it down into manageable pieces, and at the same time ensure that all of the systems are in alignment with the original goal of the project. This approach combines industrial engineering, project management, and finance into a unified approach.

After serving his country in the Vietnam war, John Briesemeister finished his BSME at the University of Minnesota and started working as a Lead Mechanical Site Engineer in the nuclear construction industry in 1981. Since that time, he has completed his MBA, MSIE and just recently his MSPM as he continued his work in the power industry managing various power plant retrofit and construction projects, which were always field type assignments.He brings that experience and his depth of knowledge in project management and industrial engineering to the reader in this "how to" book on the management of complex construction projects.
