It Never Occurred

Growing up in an abusive household, Lux Abraham dealt with most things that a child should never have to deal with at a young age. He and his brother both witnessed their father die at the hands of their mother. Not finding it easy to forgive their mother, the two enter a pact to walk away from her and never visit her in prison again. Lux decided that he would pursue a career that would allow him to help people and that is why he became a detective and his brother became a paramedic.
Malaki has also grown up in an abusive household but unlike Detective Lux, the negativity in his life has made him a negative person and he takes his anger out on any woman he crosses paths with. Unable to have a loving relationship, he deals with issues the way he saw his mama and her boyfriend deal with theirs... by using his fists and his anger.
Unfortunately, Autumn has been Malaki's latest victim. The relationship that she once thought was so loving turned abusive once she lost the baby that she was carrying. Malaki turned to alcohol to cope with his loss and that's when all hell broke loose.
Autumn always told herself she would never be put in a situation like that having a job as a nurse and seeing firsthand the abuse domestic violence victims have suffered at the hands of someone who claimed to love them. Leaving her abusive boyfriend Malaki seemed like the best decision Autumn could have ever made. But when she leaves one man and jumps too quickly into a relationship with another, will Malaki let her be happy?
Will Autumn learn from past mistakes and finally find love with the person she least expected? Or will she continue to try and make things work at any cost?
