Memories beyond Moscow is the sequel to Memories of Moscow, an account of the trials and tribulations of life as a diplomatic doctor in Moscow at the height of the Cold War. This new volume covers the next 35 years. Much relates to the author's continuing ongoing interest in Russia and Russians, which significantly influenced these years following his return to the UK. The author's life has been a potpourri of fascinating and worrying events, including Brexit, the war in Ukraine, and visits on behalf of the Foreign Office to the Balkan states and the South Pacific. The book tells how, following the tragic death of Princess Diana, the Patron of the charity for Russian children, he, in conjunction with Great Ormond Street Hospital, established Diana Memorial Scholarships for young Russian paediatricians.
