The Art of War 2025: Explained with Athena AI Strategy Language Models

The Art of War by Sun Tzu is a famous book on competition strategy and leadership that has been widely read and studied across different times and cultures. In 1910, Giles translated the original Chinese text into English, and this version is considered the standard among all English translations.

However, even with the standard Giles translation, it can be difficult for general readers to fully understand its concepts. To make The Art of War more accessible, Dr. Gary utilizes specialized generative AI models to explain the translated text.

As a result, the book now includes three sections: the original Chinese text, Giles translation, and the explanation by the Athena AI models for each of the 13 chapters by Sun Tzu. As part of the explanation, knowledge graphs are designed to highlight strategic principles using visual cues, making it easier for readers to understand and grasp these concepts.

In Chapter 5, Dr. Gary explores a practical application of Sun Tzu's principle "Match by Capabilities, Win by Differentiators" (以正合，以奇胜) through the lens of the two Athena strategy AI LLMs. These AI models are used to analyze Napoleon Bonaparte's strategic decisions at the Battle of Austerlitz in December 1805.
