孫康宜教授(Professor Kang-i Sun Chang),中國文學研究國際權威學者,長期擔任美國耶魯大學(Yale University)東亞語言文學系講座教授、臺灣中央研究院院士。孫教授著述豐碩,桃李滿門,貢獻卓越,四海學人,靡不傾仰。教授於2021年6月自耶魯大學榮休。為向教授在學術及教育上的貢獻致敬,中央研究院中國文哲研究所、香港中文大學中國古典詩學研究中心、耶魯大學東亞語言文學系攜手合作,於2021年12月21日舉辦「潛學永年:慶祝孫康宜教授榮休學術研討會」,實一時盛事也。會後,諸學界先進、教授門人弟子踴躍提供論文,今彙為茲集,以向孫教授致敬,並誌情誼。「潛學」者,康宜教授書齋名也。本論集今年二月出版,時維甲辰伊始,六合同春,又欣逢教授八秩華誕之辰,吾人誦本集「春華秋實,潛學永年」之吉言,以為教授壽,恭祝教授福壽康寧,人筆兩健,不亦宜乎!孫康宜,祖籍天津,1944年生於北平。後遷居臺灣。1968年移民美國。曾任普林斯頓大學葛思德東方圖書館館長,耶魯大學東亞語文系主任。前為耶魯大學首任Malcolm G. Chace’56東亞語言文學講座教授。著有中、英文著作多種,其中包括《陳子龍柳如是詩詞情緣》、《晚唐迄北宋詞體演進與詞人風格》、《耶魯潛學集》、《耶魯.性別與文化》、《遊學集》、《文學的聲音》、《走出白色恐怖》等。
本書集結作者在漢語語文學方面的單篇論文,內容涉及校讎學、版本目錄學、聲韻學、詩律學、經學,乃至訓蒙之作,與此書血脈相連的Ancient Chinese and Early Mandarin、《詩經的歌謠形式、韻式與韻讀》等部頭較大的,先已抽出刊行。整理舊稿,極為繁瑣,得老妻雪真聯絡陳嶸、高曼玲諸同學,勉力從事,在此申謝。
